Merry Christmas

EMMANUELToday is a spectacular day! Today is the day we celebrate the amazing event of God sending His son, Jesus, to be a sinless sacrifice for our sins. He came to earth, was killed on a cross bearing the weight of ALL our sins, and rose again on the third day to bring glory to the Father and save us from our sins. If you think about this, it becomes very clear. God is truly the most magnificent god we could ever ask for. Islam, Buddhism and other religions are based on works. If you do this or do that, then you’ll get to Heaven. This makes them based on fear of their god to do what they say, or else. As Christians, we don’t have to live like that. We believe in a God who is our father! Our DAD! He sent his son, Jesus, to save us from our sins! Jesus obediently came and bore the indescribable weight of EVERYONE’S sins while nailed bleeding to a cross! He suffered like no-one else ever suffered; just for us! How could anyone do such a thing, except our loving and forgiving God?

My point here is to point out the true meaning of Christmas. Nope, it’s not giving. That’s a pretty pathetic Christmas meaning in my opinion. I mean the beautiful act of kindness and mercy that God did for us. I cannot stress this enough. God showed us the ultimate example of selflessness by giving us His son, to die for us. I think that is MUCH better than just the “giving is better than receiving” moral of Christmas.

As you go about your business today, be aware of what God did for us. Keep in mind the TRUE meaning of Christmas, and share that joy with those around you. I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas. God bless.
